General Outlook for 2011

December 18th, 2010 ·

Annual Forecasts & Yearly Predictions for 2011 : Xin Mao, Year of the Yin Metal Golden Rabbit (Lunar – 03.02.2011 to 22.01.2012) – General Analysis based on Chinese Astrology by Janarrdhana Guptha, Energy Consultant

According to Chinese Astrology, 2011 is the Xin Mao Year : the Year of the Yin White Metal Rabbit or Golden Hare. The colours White (for Silver) and Gold represent the Metal Element. The famous celebrities under the Rabbit Sign include Albert Einstein, Angelina Jolie, Tiger Woods, Whitney Houston, Brad Pitt, Pope Benedict XVI, etc. The year is symbolised by Small Yin Metal on top of Small Yin Wood. The Fengshui Cycle of Creation and Destruction indicates that this is a destructive relationship. Both the Yins could mean polarisation of opinions resulting in conflicting ideologies, arguments and clashes. The concept of strong becoming stronger and the weak becoming weaker is highlighted.

The Year of the Rabbit will appear decorative and peaceful on the surface, but in reality, the conflicting energies of 2010 will continue but will be hidden and will burst out with time. It will of course be more slower and gentler compared to the wild roar of the Tiger in 2010. Time will move slowly and everything will take more time but the flip side is that things will get done more correctly. People will reveal their bunny-side and will listen to their heart rather than their mind.

There will be no dearth to conflicts between states and nations, but this year will witness an unusual amount of internal strife : wheels within wheels, inner politics in internal politics, etc. However, diplomacy and negotiations will eventually win, compromises reached and conflicts resolved. Discussions and consensus will be catch words of the year. The youth shall literally “rise” and infuse rejuvenating fresh energy, usher in changes, reforms and prosperity. Art, culture and ethnicity will come to the forefront. Leisurely travels and personal growth will be more visible. There will be still more medical and scientific inventions and highly beneficial innovations in Communications, Internet and IT industries.

The Rabbit Year is also a “Peach Blossom Year” – a romantic and charismatic year but with strong temptations, triangular love affairs and sex scandals. It will be extremely difficult to distinguish between a friend and a foe, with flattery, robbing and back-stabbing quite common. Bad-mouthing, vulgar gossips and damaging rumours will be abundant. Accidents pertaining to metal objects will be high. The year favours revamp and renewal of ideas and creative methods and the ingredients for success are hard work, patience and determination and a contingency plan. Wealth will come fast and slip fast. It is going to be real tough to hold onto money, as the Rabbit year always tempts with showmanship and lavish lifestyles. The need and greed for more money will attract people into financial shortcuts and cash-traps leading to wealth loss and legal problems.

The fuel prices will sky rocket and the focus on alternate energy will continue. There will be more natural calamities in the form of rains and water scarcity, crop destruction, land slides and environmental disasters. Pollution and motion sickness are in the air. Frequent attacks of flu and cold, problems to respiratory systems and mental breakdowns are indicated. Children will have many distractions and ailments this year.

The economy will continue it’s slow and painful growth despite recession, inflation and unemployment. The governments will put a tight leash on money lending and introduce new regulations to control cash movement. The stock markets will continue to be volatile – there will be more rises and growth, but sharp corrections will follow suit with no easy pickings. An year that will revive hopes again, with light visible at the end of the tunnel.
